In your stylist, you should expect...
- Your stylist looks professional. I don't know how many people I talk to and they see a lady who looks like she is still in her P.J.'s and you say to yourself, "I hope she isn't going to work on me."
- Your stylist allows enough time for your appointment. You don't want to feel uncomfortable because she is rushed.
- Your stylist is usually on time with their appointments. Occasionally late is ok, especially if it is a Saturday. Anything longer than 30 minutes is unacceptable.
- Your stylist is their when they say they will be there. Not showing up to work, showing up late for your appointment or calling you last minute to reschedule is rude and disrespectful. We all understand that emergencies happen, but when this happens more than 2 times a year, time to move on.
- If your stylist decides to change salons, make sure they give you as much notice as they can with explicit driving directions and the new phone numbers. Nobody wants to play detective.
- Are they nice and easy to talk to?
- Do you fell that they are confident in what they do?
Now I wanted to talk a little about what to expect when you walk into a salon. First impressions are everything.
- Is the salon clean?
- Are you greeted when you enter?
- Is the environment comfortable and you don't feel like an alien in a strange land
- Is the trash stored properly with a lid and out of the way?
- How are the chemicals stored? Are they out in the open or are they put in a safe place?
All of these things combined can ensure a wonderful experience. If your stylist and their salon are doing everything right, that means they care about you and want you to leave happy, refreshed and ready to conquer the world.
